WARNING: Top 5 Deadly Blogging Mistakes

Put your hand up if you have a thirst for publishing quality content? Good, now who loves reading articles on other people blogs? Excellent. I’ve gathered that people enjoy consuming content on a daily or weekly basis. The content which some of us depend on is being tainted by bad blogger practices, I’m going to reveal the Top 5 Deadly Blogging Mistakes. Are you ready to be enlightened?

Mistake 1: When’s The Next Update?

When your blog followers start to ask you questions like “when’s the next post coming?”. They’re excited and can not wait to read your next post, that’s awesome. But this compliment is a double edged sword. Your followers are really trying to say “Why haven’t you posted more stuff, I have needs and you’re not fulfilling them”. Yes people will always be demanding more from you, but don’t make your blog updates become irregular or inconsistent. Loyal followers will disperse and seek out others that are reliable.

Mistake 2: Comment Awaiting Moderation

Some people may know that I like to contribute to a few online communities, these include blogs spanning over a wide range of niches. Every week (sometimes more often) I visit these blogs and craft thoughtful, valuable and witty comments. A pet peeve that really grinds my gears stems from seeing that “Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation” message.
Now I don’t mind seeing that message as it shows me that you care (I use that word loosely) enough to read all comments beforehand. But wait! What’s going on here, oh no it’s been 5-7 days since I originally left the comment and still I see the message “Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation”. From this lack of action It’s easy to conclude that you really don’t value your followers or their time.

Mistake 3: Hello, Is Anyone Their?

So you approve new comments to your blog, that’s a real good start well done (big pat on the back), but hold on a minute. I’m starting to doubt if you’re a real person. Signs indicate otherwise, you post new content all the time but you seem to have a problem replying to them. Is this blogging? Stop being ignorant and interact with the very people who are contributing, it honestly takes less than 5 minutes and you can build a betterbond with them.

Mistake 4: Mind On My Money

Don’t take this personally but what are you trying to achieve? Every time I visit your blog it seems as though you’re promoting yet another product and giving me a zillion reasons how this new product is going to change my life. All posts you publish are now geared towards, how fast you can empty my pockets and release me from my hard earned cash. It’s difficult to see where you are really adding valuable content, all creditability you once acquired is now completely lost.

Mistake 5: My Eyes, They Burn!

Listen I understand you want to make a little money while blogging, no problem. But, What’s the deal with needing so many banner ads, literally they are hiding in every crevice of available space. If you plan on keeping them. Search virtual marketplaces such as Clickbank, JVZOO or Digiresults for products your followers will be interested in purchasing, we’re all tired of seeing those “Miricle skin rejuvenation cream ads” stop being lazy. You know 1 affiliate sale equates to like 30-60 Adsense clicks – Think about it.

I’m Watching You (Not really.. But I Am)
